"What About Love" (THE COLOR PURPLE)

Well, a few days have passed since my last entry. I simply took a break but not from volleyball. I played a little and watched a lot more.

I often wonder how I could contribute to the teams that I watch as far as advice. I watch them and get caught up in the match that I'm not always aware of strategy or positioning of the other team, looking for their weaknesses or what to watch out from their strong points. But I'm trying to do that a little bit more, be aware of an opponent's weak spots.

This night was a holiday and it was not one that I particularly observe. It's just another day, we called it "Wednesday, Happy Wednesday" all day. I believe in romance and have nothing against it but this is a day where it's kind of in your face everywhere you turn. I was going to spend the evening with Claire and cheer on "Hit It and Quit It"
men's team at their league game. We got a few more people to show up with us and made it a night of celebrating friendships. I could have sulked in the idea of being "single" but it was a time of celebrating in numbers. And "Hit It and Quit It" gave us a really good game to watch. We cheered and clapped as much as we could, hoping that maybe the sound would affect the opponent but it wasn't too successful. I mean how much harm could we do as a cheering section. Their opponent had an amazing setter that we were all impressed by, this woman proved that she could hang with the big boys. At this level of competition, it's not about the height or power of your players but how well you execute your plays and even the most basic skills can separate the winners from the losers.
