It has been a nice full week. Last Saturday, I went out to Long Island to be a guest at the wedding of an old volleyball friend, Anne Tam. She was mentioned in the first entry of this blog and now the time had come for her
wedding to Harry Woo, whom she truly met at Brandeis open play. Her sister was matron of honor and during her toast talked about the story of how they first met and it really made me choke up, more than the tears I had during the ceremony. Fellow Team Rez teammate, Barbara, was my guest and we were so happy for our girl, and we had a blast because we both just love weddings especially wedding cake!!!
Then the stuff yourself holiday, Thanksgiving, came and went. It was filled
with a lot of food and great times with friends. Normally I'm busy with collections for work but it was just mild this season since the strike is still going on and I probably could have gone home to Texas but I enjoy NY during the holidays. I'll be home for Christmas for like 10 days so I'll just wait. I also got back into my movie-going mode by catching four movies over the holiday break.
I capped off the weekend by playing at open play. I was walking back to the
gym after we had signed up and just waiting around for the 1pm play time, I could see warm-up happening right on the sidewalk with about 6 volleyballs going up in the air. It was a beautiful sight. I am a simple player, nothing flashy about any part of my game, and I continue to want to improve my game, and I've gotten to a point where I can bounce back from a missed point. But I swear my passing is so atrocious that I just need to find a wall and work on that technique. Remember: continue to learn and improve, that's all I can offer.
