Are there not days when your game is so off, you wonder how on earth you ever learned to play the game? When basic skills seem gone and it just gets worse and worse. I felt like that Sunday when I was at open play at Brandeis. I was on a good team but my passing was atrocious. Passing has always been my weakness, and I keep trying to work on my passing but I have such a hard time bending into the pass on my knees that I can sometimes lose it. There are days when I'm totally okay with passing and getting it to the setter is fine, high and in his direction. Like Sunday, there are days when I'm so helpless in the passing department, and it's all about getting under the ball and I'm trying to pass with a bump. But a lot of times I feel more control with overhand passes but tend to overjudge those and make a screwy pass. It's a part of the game that I have to continue to work on more and more. Sunday was just so disappointing for me because I was letting the team down even though we all had our share of mistakes. There's always something to work on to continue to improve your game is how I spin it.
I do not have any games this week. Well my Big City team does not have a game this week because of the holiday and I have an Urban game on Wednesday but missing that to go to a concert. Normally that would not happen but it's for one of my favorite current groups, Sugarland.
On the work front, we are in the midst of a strike that has completed halted 27 Broadway shows and affected our fundraising collections for the fall season. Let's hope for a quick resolution.
